Sensitization of cops on tobacco control

GUWAHATI, Nov 12: The tobacco control cell of the Kamrup Metropolitan district organized a sensitization and awareness programme on effective enforcement of tobacco control legislation and policies among the police personnel of the district.

Kamrup (M) DCP Arabinda Kalita was the chief guest in the programme. Speaking on the occasion, DCP stress the need of implementation of the tobacco control laws in the greater interest of society. He laid emphasis for strict implementation of The Assam Health (Prohibition of Manufacturing, advertisement, Trade, Storage, Distribution, Sale and Consumption of Zarda, Gutkha, Panmasala etc., Containing Nicotine) Act, 2013. He asked the police personnel to strictly monitor the Section 6 of the COTPA.
