Sensitization programme on climate change adaptation organized

MORIGAON, Sept 10: A district-level sensitization programme on Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) was organized by Inter Agency Group (IAG), Assam in collaboration with Inter Agency Group (IAG), Morigaon at Mohila Mehfil’s conference hall in Morigaon on Saturday.

The iugural session of the programme was started with the welcome address by David Kujur, State coorditor, IAG, Assam. Thereafter, the key note address was provided by Wahida Rahman, Chief-Functiory, Mohila Mehfil, NGO, Morigaon as well as the chairperson, IAG, Morigaon.

In the introductory session, Luit Goswami, Director, Rural Voluntary Centre (RVC), NGO, Dhemaji , was introduced by David Kujur  in the programme. Attending the programme as the chief resources person, Luit Goswami, spoke about understanding the impact, vulnerability and linkage between climate change and disaster and adaptation to climate change, link between adaptation and development.

On the other hand, the standing district committee of committee of IAG, Morigaon was formed with Wahida Rahman as chairperson and Anjan Sarma as convener.
