Separate selection committee for the Ranji trophy

GUWAHATI, June 25: Silchar is ready to host the next Annual General Meeting of the cash reached Assam Cricket Association. The meeting will be held at Banga Bhawan tomorrow. Almost all the top brasses of the association including president and secretary Gautam Roy and Bikash Baruah respectively along with 'president candidate' Rokybul Hussain already reached in Silchar today.

The meeting will constitute the next committee of the Assam Cricket Association. As per the information available till late night there is hardly any possibility to see any major changes in the next committee. Even Rokybul Hussain, who two-days back announced to contest for the president post, not confirmed his participation in the media in Silchar this evening.

However it is expected that present committee may face some harsh questions in the meeting  for their activities particularly on the delay in the finish  of Barsapara cricket stadium.

Meanwhile two posts in the executive committee will now be reserved, one for the former Ranji cricketers and the other for cricketer, umpier or scorer. There will be change in the selection committee also. From now on wards there will be separate selection committee for the Ranji trophy. On the other hand separate committee will be formed to select U-23 and U-19 along with U-16 state team.The special Annual General Meeting of the association, which was held today in Silchar,  amendment the constitution to approve this proposals.
