Seujia Samaj Sangeet Mahavidyalay observes 72nd Foundation Day

SIVASAGAR, July 28: Seujia Samaj Sangeet Mahavidyalay, Sivasagar has celebrated its 72nd Foundation Day recently with various cultural programmes which ended with a cultural evening at Sivasagar tya Mandir. It was indeed a pleasant sight to see people of every age group together, showing their utmost affection, love, support and dedication to the Mahavidyalay.

The Foundation Day began with flag hoisting in the morning at the Mahavidyalay premises located at Sankar Mandir Road by Saurav Chaliha, president, Seujia Samaj Sangeet Mahavidyalay Maging Committee, which was followed by a ‘bonti prajwalan’ and ‘xraddhanjali anushthan’ to pay tributes to founder president of the Mahavidyalay Parag Chaliha, founder principal Atul Sarma, former president Dakhicharan Baruah, Lila Bordoloi, former principal Makhan Bhuyan and Bidya Goswami. It was iugurated by Dhirendra th Bhuyan, advisor of mahavidyalay maging committee.

The cultural evening at tya Mandir began with lighting of the auspicious lamp by Saurav Chaliha, Arati Baruah and Sadikur Rahman with a ‘guru vanda’ by the students of the mahavidyalay under the direction of Rajen Baruah of Jarabari Xatra.

The cultural programme, which followed, was a spectacular presentation of ‘raag pradhan’ under the direction of Ajanta Saikia. The vibrant and lively performance of ‘Bharat tyam’ and ‘Gup Balak Nritya’ and ‘Tabla Vadan’ were staged under the direction of Krimiel Sarma and Shyamal Dey, respectively. The other performances such as ‘Bhurtaal Nritya’, ‘’Behela Vadan’, ‘Chali Nritya’, and a song performed by the students of va Pratham and Pura Prathamalong with another song performance by the Visharad students caught the happy mood of the audience. The programme was anchored by Ranjit Baruah.
