Seven arrested for ATM cash theft

DOOMDOOMA, April 12 : Seven thieves involved in ATM theft case of Union Bank of India, Doomdooma Branch, in the wee hours of April 6 were apprehended by Doomdooma Police  along with Tinsukia Police yesterday night. Tinsukia  SP And Prakash Tiwari  told reporters in a press meet today that the arrested thief s are being interrogated today at Doomdooma Police Station and will be produced in the court tomorrow. The apprehended culprits  have been identified as Madhurya Hazarika (18) alias Numal of Hatimora tun Gaon Bordubi PS, Prab Phukan (20) of Kakapather, Jitu Moran (23) of Baghjan Jokaichuk, Ramesh Goala (20) of Baghjan and Lakhan Praja (30) of Gatang Gaon under Baghjan PS.  Along with them two others mely, the driver of  the Maruti van which was used to transport  the ATM machine and Md Arul Ali  (23) of Thermal Gate, Nepali Mandir, Tinsukia and Ankur Dhekial Phukan (26) of Kakapathar were also arrested. The Union Bank authority who lodged the FIR in the Doomdooma Police Station next day stated  that  approximately two lacs Rupees were there inside the ATM machine. The Police recovered along with the damaged ATM machine  cash to the tune of Rupees 1.9 Lac and the CCTV camera and memory card that were fixed inside the ATM booth in the operation.  The SP Tiwari said that  they recover the rest money within next two to three days.
