Seven arrested in city

GUWAHATI, June 16: City police today arrested five persons for their alleged involvement in the jeweller shoot-out case at Bhaskar gar under Fatasil Ambari police station of the city June 13. The arrested persons have been identified as

Sudip Biswash, 32, of Sibing under Fulbari police station in Tura, Kashem Ali, 23, of Malibari of Boko, Amir Ali, 35, of Palhaji in Barpeta, Dipankar Deka, 28, of Tebitola village in Tamulpur and Jaded Khan, 28, of Sontali in Chaigaon.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation, city police arrested two more persons in connection with the Simon House incident. They have been identified as Amrit Kakoty (30) of Duliajan and Shonit Kashyap (27) of Goalgaon in Dhemaji.  Police said Amrit was arrested from his rented accommodation at Patarkuchi of Basistha area while Shonit was detained from his rented house at Beltola survey area. Police recovered Rs 2,800 and Rs 1, 44,960 from Amrit and Sonit respectively.
