Seven Assam players in main draw at International Tennis Tournament

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Tennis Association has given wild cards to five Assam players-Snigdha S. Baruah, Kristi Boro and Ishika Chakma in the girls under 18 singles and Akash Deb and Kritanta Sarma in the boys under 18 singles- while two Assam girls Lenien Jamir and Raina Zaffar have got direct entry into the girls under 18 singles event of the World Junior Ranking Tennis Tournament. This is first occasion when seven players from Assam will play together in the main draw of an International tennis event.

All the qualifying round matches of the tournament has been completed today and the main competition will start tomorrow. It may be mentioned that players from Russia, Thailand and USA will also be seen in action along with the Indian players in this International event organised by All Assam Tennis Association at its own Complex at Chachal, Guwahati.
