Seven-day summer workshop in Dibrugarh concludes

Dibrugarh August 3: A valedictory function was organized on the last day of the seven-day summer workshop organized by Dibrugarh Hindu Milan Mandir (DHMM). Almost 50 students from various schools of the town took part in the workshop which concluded on July 31.

The meeting was chaired by I. Ahmed and along with other guests he iugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp. The meeting was attended amongst others by Prof. of Bengali Department of M.D.K.G. Girl’s College Shekhar Purkayastha, Prof. of Zoology of D.H.S.K. College Sudaskshi Das Bordoloi, former chairman of DMB Chandra Kanta Baruah, Staff Reporter  of Dainik Yugasankha, Sanjib ndi, Ward Commissioner Tushar Kanti Choudhury , District President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Rajeswar Mahapatra and Staff Reporter of Purbanchal Prahari,  Lalit Sharma as  guests of honors’.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudakshi Bordoloi appreciated the paintings and art work exhibited. In her speech she lauded the organizers for their work amongst the students with a view to impart within them the knowledge of art and music through this workshop. But to some extent she expressed her dissatisfaction over the idea of organizing too many workshops as she felt that they too curbed children’s holidays.

Expressing similar views, another speaker Shekhar Purakayastha said that summer workshops organized by DHMM were commendable as it helped a child to discover their inner creativity under the guidance of teachers of art and music. Staff reporter, Sanjib ndi also thanked the organizers of the Summer workshop for their good work among school students through a common platform. Vote of thanks was delivered by convener of Matri Mandali, Kak Pramanik.
