Seven days' time to illegal encroachers

MORIGAON, March 11: At a time when the State Government has taken strict action against illegal encroachment, encroachment of over 400 bigha government land by suspected tiols at Khatobori under Bhurbandha GP in Morigaon district has created sensation in the district.

With support of some middlemen, the suspected tiols have been encroaching government land and building huts. This has allegedly brought threat to the local indigenous people of Khatabori area. The local people appealed to the district administration to evict the suspected tiols from the area. This district administration has provided seven days’ time to the suspected tiols to go away from the area or the district administration will launch eviction drive.
