Seven found guilty in fake appointment case, placed under suspension in Jorhat

Jorhat, March 8:  A total of seven employees of the office of the Joint Director Health and Family Welfare, Government of Assam, vide a letter bearing reference No.HTC/SUSP/53/2016/2156, dated 5/3/16, have been placed under suspension for having links in 91 fake appointments in the office of the Joint Director Health and Family Welfare, Jorhat, after taking several lakhs of rupees from the respective candidates.

They suspended employees are Sushil Dutta, Head Assistant, Gu Govinda Kalita, Head Assistant, Prabhat Saikia, Lower division clerk, Lakhya Pegu, Upper division Assistant, Mala Phukan, Lower division assistant, Abdul Rahim, Upper division assistant of Malaria office Jorhat, Siddique Ahmed, recently retired Head assistant from the Joint Director Health Office,  Jorhat.

Earlier a two-member team from the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell had visited the office and conducted a marathon investigation but failed to find anyone guilty. But after hue and cry raised by various sections and organizations like Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad, the district administration came under pressure and Jorhat Deputy Commissioner  Solanki Vishal Vasant formed a 12-member enquiry  committee headed by Babul Lekharu, Senior Additiol Deputy Commissioner, Jorhat.

Later the committee sent detailed reports after investigating and found these seven employees of the Joint Director Health office, Jorhat guilty and in return the Director of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Assam, received this suspension order to suspend six employees from the office with immediate effect while being instructed to take other discipliry action on retired head assistant Siddique Ahmed.
