Seven held in minor's rape case

NONGSTOIN, Sept 15: Nongstoin Police on Thursday arrested seven persons of Mawkohmoit village for allegedly raping a 15 year-old girl of Myriaw village on Sunday evening.

According to the Police the seven rapists identified as Dionstar Marngar (16), Rickystar Marngar (18), Poiningstar Marngar (18), Claverstain Marngar and Shaitstar Marngar (19), Nisphirlang Marngar and Khwardingstar Marngar (16). Meanwhile Superintendent of Police West Khasi Hills S. Nongtnger said that all of them are from Mawkohmoit under Myriaw village, and all the accused admitted their guilt. Case against them was registered at Nongstoin Police Station, case no. 84(9)2016 U/S 9 (g)/ 10of POCSO Act.
