Seven timber smugglers arrested, timber seized

MANGALDAI, March 14: The troops of 33 Battalion of SSB deployed in Indo-Bhutan border areas in the north–western part of Udalguri district busted an organized gang of timber smugglers and seized two illegal saw mills along with a large quantity of planks and logs stored in the saw mills.

In this connection the jawans of SSB, with assistance of the police and forest personnel, have arrested seven timber smugglers. The market value of the seized timber will be an approximate amount of Rs. 5.19 lakh.
