Seven TV jourlists assaulted at Dobaka, three seriously injured

GAON, March 11: About seven TV reporters were allegedly attacked by a group of labourers at Bheleoguri under Dobaka police station on Wednesday when the group of jourlists were doing a news story on illegal forest cover and illegal stone quarries located in Bheleoguri forest Beat under Kathiatali forest range area.

The labourers allegedly attacked them with big stones and wooden rods. They even broke two TV cameras and three TV jourlists were seriously injured.

The president of gaon Press Club, Palash Ranjan Das, was also among the jourlists who were attacked.  In the attack, camerapersons Biki Das and Lakhya Jyoti Bora received head injuries. The gaon Press Club has already informed the Deputy Commissioner and SP of the district.

On the other hand, various organizations have slammed the attack. Organizations like gaon Press Club, Working Jourlists’ Union gaon branch, All gaon District Jourlists’ Union and former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar  Mahanta  have criticized the attack on the media persons.
