Several hurt in mishaps

SHILLONG, April 24: A Silchar bound night bus collided with a truck early this morning at Dwarksuid in Ri-Bhoi district, wounding ten passengers.

The injured people have been identified as ren Barman (30), Kiran Rai (30), Pushpa Vishwas (45), Kundan Rai (20), Ratan Karmakar (30), Gopal Bora (48), ndan Rai (20), Manish Dutta (23), Riskhen Suting (28) and ngshi Tongbi Singh (5). They were rushed to Bhoirymbong CHC.

ren Barman, Kiran Rai, the driver of the passenger bus Manish Dutta and Riskhen Suting was referred to NEIGRIHMS from the CHC as their injuries were more serious. Of the ten people injured in the collision, eight were passengers travelling on the night bus.

Meanwhile, the driver of a Maruti 800 car (ML04B – 5466) sustained injuries when the vehicle was hit by a twelve-tyre truck from the back. Due to the impact, the Maruti car hit another truck going ahead of it.

The incident happened at Diensynrum under Khliehriat Block of East Jaintia Hills. The injured driver - Franky Lyngdoh (25) has been rushed to Khliehriat CHC.
