Several posts vacant in GHSS

ITAGAR, Oct 3: The lone Government Higher Secondary School of Anini in Lower Dibang Valley district of Aruchal Pradesh,  is facing acute shortage of teachers, as the school severely lacks post graduate teachers for core subjects in humanities such as English, history, economics and political science according to the School Magement Committee’s (SMC) letter to the education minister.

The SCM in the letter apprised the minister that at secondary level, there are only 5 trained graduate teachers and 1 junior teacher for more than 500 students and though 5 teachers were successively transferred in 2011, the government failed to send relievers for those transferred teachers.

The committee has further appealed the education ministry not to release the teachers awaiting transfer without the reliever being posted first at the school.

“For every missing subject teacher, the students are taught by non experts or the classes withheld, putting education to jeopardy,” observed the SMC.
