SGM dotes tables to government school

SIVASAGAR, September 2: A government school, Joysagar High School, in the Joysagar area in Sivasagar has no tables.  Sanjukta Ga Manch (SGM), a newly-formed independent political party aimed at bringing about a social change in Sivasagar, has doted two tables to the school.

Pariksheet Baruah, central committee president of SGM told The Sentinel, “Students are the future of the country. We won’t compromise with anything and will work for the development of the education sector in future too as our team has been formed with motivation and passion to bring a change in our society.” “The tables are doted with contribution from the members of our team as we don’t collect dotion from anyone,” said Baruah. The young leader under whose tireless effort, hundreds of youths of Sivasagar unitedly formed the SGM recently, also assured to continue their effort through such activities.

A teacher under the condition of anonymity highlighted the alleged negligence of the government. “The school was established in the year 1987 and got recognition by the Government of Assam two years ago. Since then the school has been provided with only a latrine and toilet in the me of development,” he said. The school at present has 10 teachers and more than 80 students.

Earlier, SGM also provided fincial assistance to a meritorious but poor student of Sivasagar ,Azim Bora and sent him to Guwahati for higher studies.
