Shaheed Divas Observed at Jorhat College

JORHAT: Shaheed Divas was observed at the premises of Jorhat College on Saturday to pay tribute to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru.

A special prayer meet was held and a colourful procession was taken out by the students. Principal Dr Debabrat Sharma and faculty members were present.

Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru fought for the freedom of India from the colonial rulers and sacrificed their lives on March 23, 1931. They were hanged to death by the British for the assassination of British Police Officer John Saunders.
