Shahil lifts tiol title

GUWAHATI, Aug 30: Assam Chess prodigy Shahil Dey added another feather to his cap by winning the tiol Under 9 Chess Championship title at Jalandhar today. Shahil scored an impressive 9.5 points out of possible 11 and remained undefeated in the entire tourment.

Shahil had earlier created history by winning the tiol Under 7 Chess Championship in Kolkata in 2014. He followed that achievement by clinching the silver Medal in the Under 8 category of the Asian Youth Chess Championship 2015 at South Korea and then secured the 10th position in the Under 10 category of the World Youth Chess Championship at Greece same year. Gauhati Town Club Chess Foundation congratulated Shahil for his title winning performance.
