Shahil to represent India

GUWAHATI, Aug 22: Young chess prodigy Shahil Dey is representing  India in the World Cadets Chess Championship 2017 (Under 10) Chess Championship being held at Pocos de Caldas, Brazil from August 23 to 31, 2017. Shahil was selected for this tourment as he had won the tiol Under 9 Chess Championship last year. Shahil has been seeded 16th in the tourment based on his Intertiol Rating. Altogether four Indian youths are representing in this 11 round swiss league event with a total of 88 players from 30 countries across the world.

Shahil has been training at Assam Chess Club for the event under the guidance of Y Dhabir Singh, ndan Buragohain and Biswajit Bharadwaj. Assam Chess Club wishes Shahil success in this event.
