Shahil upsets Intertiol Master

GUWAHATI, May 27: Assam chess prodigy Shahil Dey in yet another brilliant performance outplayed seasoned Intertiol Master (IM) Ramathan Balasubramanium of Tamildu in the second round of the KIIT University Intertiol Open Chess Tourment at Bhubhaneshwar today. Shahil, who is competing in the strong Grandmaster category of the event, is seeded 204 in the starting rank of the tourment in which altogether 251 players including 15 Grandmasters (GM) and 19 Intertiol Masters (IM) from across the world are participating.  Earlier in the first round Shahil had defeated 79th seed Women Fide Master Cholleti Sahajasri of Andhra Pradesh.
