Shahil wins Commonwealth Chess C'ship

GUWAHATI, July 1: Young chess prodigy Shahil Dey of Assam yet again brought glory to the state by clinching the gold medal in the under 8 category of the  Commonwealth Chess Championship 2015 that concluded in New Delhi on  June 30.Shahil scored 6.5 points in 8 rounds and clinched the championship and thus justified his top seeding in the start of the event.

Shahil is also the current tiol Under 7 champion and would be representing India in the Asian and World Youth Championship to be held in South Korea and Greece in August and October respectively this year.

All Assam Chess Association (Adhoc committee) congratulates Shahil and conveys its best wishes to him for the upcoming events, stated in a press release.
