Shanthala Award to Assam dance guru

GUWAHATI, March 4: An eight-member troupe of artistes from Assam led by Guru Bibhul Kanta Sinha performed at the Shanthala Inter-State Cultural Festival held recently at Bagalore. Based on the performance of the team on the stage, Shanthala Chertable Trust that organizes the inter-state cultural festival yearly awarded Guru Bibhul Kanta Sinha with Santhala Award, 2016.

The troupe from Assam performed Basantarasa and mandira rtan, both in Manipuri dance form. The other members of the troupe are Lipika Sinha, Rimi Sinha, Suprava Sarma, Ji Sinha and Shraddhanjali Sarma, besides two child artistes - Debangshi and Priyangshi.
