Shatabdi Express stoppage demanded at Biswath Chariali

From a Correspondent
Biswath Chariali, May 6: The people of Biswath district have demanded a stoppage of the newly-introduced harlagun-Guwahati Shatabdi Express at Biswath Chariali railway station. The service will commence tomorrow at harlagun. One of the most luxurious trains of Indian Railway, Shatabdi Express is going to link harlagun, Aruchal Pradesh with Guwahati. But it will have stoppages only at Harmutty and Rangapara in the north-eastern part of the State, which has become a matter of grave concern for the people of Biswath. Now, Biswath Chariali is a major hub from the business and communication point of view for people of the district and also for the people of the neighbouring places of Aruchal such as Seizusa and Balijan. Earlier, the people were also deprived from getting the service of the weekly harlagun-New Delhi AC Express. The aggrieved people and several social organizations have urged parliamentarians RP Sharma and Ripun Borah to intervene in this matter.
