SHGs urged to plant neem saplings

MORIGAON, April 12: With an aim to make Morigaon town green with 500 neem plants, Deputy Commissioner Hemen Das has asked each self-help group to plant a sapling of neem in each ward of the town. Addressing the self-help groups at a meeting at Morigaon Municipal Board, jointly organized on Thursday by Morigaon Municipal Board and CMMU, DAY-NULM, Morigaon on the occasion of Rongali Bihu, the Deputy Commissioner advised each self-help group to work with more dedication.

Earlier, the DC iugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp in front of the Morigaon Municipal Board office. A felicitation programme was also held where Deputy Commissioner Hemen Das, Dalim Phukan, PTI, and Chandralekha Gohain Lahan were felicitated by Dipali Kakaty, PM, CMMU, Morigaon. Altogether 22 self-help groups took part in the programme where they displayed their different food items.
