Shillong as location for Bollywood film

From A Reporter

SHILLONG, Sept 13: In what can be termed as a boost to the Meghalaya film industry, including local artistes, a Bollywood film titled “Keh Do a” will be shot in Shillong and its periphery.

The making of the film has been undertaken through a joint venture of Bollywood Film Makers Aura MX Entertainment and local production house Kitbok Kharmalki Pictures.

The film will be directed by Karan Kashyap along with associate director Kitbok Kharmalki.

Addressing reporters in the city on Wednesday, Kashyap said, “As the city of Shillong is very beautiful, we want to make a romantic film whereby the indigenous people’s culture, music and tradition can be incorporated into the film.”

He informed the media that first preference will be given to local artistes to be a part of the film with the auditions scheduled on 17th October in the city.

“We urge all the local youth and artistes to come out in numbers to participate in the auditions for the film,” he said.

Though the location for the auditions was not announced by both the director and associate director, Soso Tham Auditorium as a probable venue was hinted by the duo.

Meanwhile, Kharmalki said, “We want to give 90% chance to the local artistes to take part in the film. Hence, people should come out in large numbers for the auditions.”

He also announced that leading actors in the film will be coming from Mumbai.

“We want a mixture of local song composers and singers from the State and Mumbai to be part of the film,” he said.

The shooting of the film is expected to start in November this year and the film will be probably released in April 2018.
