Shillong filmmaker to return award

SHILLONG, Nov 4: Tarun Bhartiya a filmmaker, writer and activist based in Shillong will return his tiol Film Award to President of India. “I am returning the award in protest against the state sanctioned atmosphere of hate and intolerance,” Bhartiya said in a press statement issued here today. Bhartiya had won the tiol Award for Best Editor (Non-Fiction) for In Camera a film by Ranjan Palit.
