SHILLONG, Dec 21: Shillong girl Wanrida Pyngrope has been crowned Miss North East India 2015 at a beauty pageant held at Shilpagram in Guwahati on December 20.
“I’m very proud to win the crown not just for myself or my family but I’m also proud to be able to win the crown form my state Meghalaya and I’m glad I was able to bring the crown home,” Miss North East India 2015 Wanrida Pyngrope told newsmen here on Monday.
She said that the journey was very tough since she had to compete with 34 other contestants from across the Northeast but with hard work, grooming and training sessions conducted by mentors in Guwahati she was able to win the crown.
She informed that there was another contestant form Meghalaya, Deikisha Lyngdoh Talang who participated in the beauty pageant.
“Now that I have won Miss North East India my next aim is to compete in Miss India but first I will need to go through the audition rounds which will be conducted on 4th January at Guwahati and I hope to get selected,” she said.
