Shillong Lajong beat GTC

SHILLONG, Jan 10: The Shillong Lajong FC beat GTC by 2-0 in the U-18 I-League in Polo Ground Shillong on Tuesday.

The Reds domited the game throughout and were clearly the stronger team in today’s game. They took an early lead in the 8th minute when Joe scored from inside the box.

They continued to play the second half with the same intensity and aggression. They kept on attacking the GTC half and had many more chances coming their way but were not able to convert into goals.

The Junior Reds filly netted their second goal after making good efforts in front of goal. Robert Khongjoh received a good ball and then quickly made a fast run inside the box and slotted the ball with his left foot to find the bottom corner of the right net in the 69th minute of the game.

Guwahati Town Club tried to get back into the game and were also working hard to find the net but were not able to convert their chances. Shillong Lajong Juniors displayed a good game till the end of the fil whistle and took away full three points from today’s game.

Shillong Lajong will play their next game on January 17 against Rangdajied United FC in Polo Ground Shillong.
