Shillong school takes up wonderful method to save water

FROM A REPORTER

SHILLONG, June 6: As part of the World Environment Day celebration, the Pine Mount School (PMS) here on Monday introduced an interesting method for preserving water. As per this method, when the school will be over, the students will keep the remaining water of their bottles in a container which will be kept outside their classes.

Speaking to reporters, Principal of the School, Aiom Kshiar Lyngdoh said, “There is plenty of water shortage all around. We have decided to go with the idea of collecting the left-over water from our students and the water will be recycled for watering the plants and cleaning of the school.”

She informed that this is not a one-day activity, rather it will continue in the days to come.

She pointed out that such kind of initiatives is the need of the hour given the increasing impact of the global warming.

“It seems Mother ture is not happy with the activities of human being. That is why the incidents of lightning, frequent rainfalls, thunderstorm and the floods have occurred. So we have to make the earth a better place through our activities,” she said.
