Shillong scribes body mourns demise of Sangma

SHILLONG, March 6: The Shillong Press Club has expressed profound sorrow and pain over the untimely demise former Lok Sabha Speaker PA Sangma on March 4.

The members of the Shillong Press Club in a statement said, “Words cannot express the sentiments the members, especially those, who had a close relationship with the departed leader.

From a cowherd, to a teacher, to a lawyer, to a jourlist, to the pincle of success in a chequered political career, Pa Sangma has successfully achieved it all in such a short span of time which will be extremely difficult to be emulated by anyone in the near future.” “His various press conferences and interactions with members of the fourth estate are the most memorable ones. His easy accessibility and quick wit endeared him to one and all and his humble demeanor won him friends easily throughout his life,” the statement said.

In Pa Sangma’s sudden demise, Meghalaya, the Northeast and the tion as whole has lost a statesman and leader par excellence who in his inimitable style represented the indigenous world in the highest of platforms throughout the globe, it read. The Shillong Press Club has extended sincere condolences to the bereaved family members of Sangma.
