Shillong to host 'Mask Festival' on September 24

SHILLONG, Sept 22: With the objective to highlight the music scene of Shillong at a higher scale, a music event called the ‘The Shillong Mask Festival 2016’ is scheduled to be held in the city on September 24, at Polo Grounds, Shillong, from 2 pm onwards.

This event is an electronic dance music event with a major lineup of Intertiol acts like Super8 &Tab (Armada music) and also features well known DJs like DJ Leo, Arpan x Sev, Shaan x Trekon, Jupiter, and VJ Miraj.

The Finnish duo are currently on their Intertiol tour which was met with great success at Hyderabad, Pune and the last two days will be held at Kolkata and Shillong.

‘The Shillong Mask Festival’ takes its inspiration from “The Carnival of Venice” which is a major festival in Italy.

The organisers and event magement team known as SCREAM ( Shillong City Rocking Entertainment and Magement), intend to host this festival in Shillong as a calendar event.

Despite the heavy rain, the organizers informed that a lot of effort and hard work is being put in to ensure that the event is a grand success and promises to entertain Shillong music lovers with a variety of music, state of the art stage which can rival the bigger cities of the country and food and drink stalls.

Masks will be available at the venue so the audience can get absorbed in as the theme is Mask Festival and will further add to the fun of being anonymous.

The venue is the sprawling 5th ground at Polo Ground and is being revamped completely. The ground is being leveled, has an exclusive VIP lounge area and the event will have a high level of security so that the audience have no problems during this event.

Tickets are nomilly priced at Rs. 500 and there are some VIP tickets available too at site and as well as in certain sale points and venues. It may be noted that Super8 & Tab, since their collaboration in 2005 Super8 & Tab have released two Beatport trance number one artist albums, played at major music festivals all over the world, including EDC, Ultra, Tomorrowland and A State of Trance, been nomited ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ at the Miami WMC IDMA Awards and they consistently score highly in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 poll. And having now signed to colossal record company Armada Music, they show no signs of slowing down.
