Shops gutted in fire in Basugaon

Bongaigaon, May 26:  Property worth several crores was damaged in a fire accident that took place on Thursday morning at Basugaon town in Chirang district. Local people said that total 20 shops were completely destroyed in this fire. “When we noticed the fire, we informed the fire brigade. Total three fire brigade vans from Kajalgaon, Dhaligaon and Salekati NTPC arrived and filly after a long struggle, they succeeded to put out the fire,” the people said. The fire, it is suspected, was caused due to electric short circuit in a shop.
