Short Stories Drama festival to be held

GUWAHATI, Dec 18:  A two-day drama festival on acclaimed short stories by four renowned writers will be held on December 21 and 22 at the Rabindra Bhawan. The festival titled 'Short Stories Drama Festival 2016' presented by A Cube Dream Productions in collaboration with the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, will showcase adaptations of Munshi Premchand's 'Burhi Aaita' (Burhi Kaki) at 5.30 pm and Aabid Surti's 'Dibyachakhu' (Third Eye) at 7 pm on December 21. The next day on December 22 will see presentations of Ashapur Devi's 'Trankorta' at 5.30 pm and Mamoni Roisom Goswami's 'Sanskar' at 7 pm. While 'Dibyachakhu' (Third Eye) is dramatised in Assamese by Jiten Sarma, the rest of the plays are dramatised and directed by Manik Roy. This was stated in a press release.
