GUWAHATI, Feb 10: Shyam Babu Singh of Guwahati, Krish Dutta of Guwahati and Deba Dutta of Dibrugarh are sharing the lead with 3 points from 3 rounds in 40th All Assam Inter District Veteran Chess Championship in Guwahati on Friday. In the third round unrated Shyambabu Singh scored an upset victory over pre-tourment favourite and second seed Prodip Bhuyan of Guwahati in 61 moves. But top seed Krish Dutta gave no chance to Sankar Sarma of Guwahati and beat him from black side of the board in 49 moves. Deba Dutta of Dibrugarh District beat Hiranya Das of Guwahati to shares the lead. Subrata ndi Roy of Cachar, Padmeswar Konwar of North Lakhimpur, Ardash Ali of Barpeta, Pradip Bhuyan, Sankar Sarma, Bamcha Singh and Nilkamal Das of Guwahati are in second position with 2 points each after completion third round.
