Shylla wants to be a mentor to MDCs

SHILLONG, June 27: Senior politician HS Shylla has expressed his desire to be a ‘coach and mentor’ to the present MDCs in the KHADC. 
Speaking at the sidelines of a function held in the city on Tuesday, Shylla said, “I’m too senior when compared with the present MDC in the KHADC and instead my role should be to coach them.” 
Informing that he was once a Cabinet Minister, Co-Chairman of the State Planning Board, Chairman Law Commission and Deputy Speaker in the legislative Assembly, he said, “I don’t feel the need to fight for the Dy. CEM post in the KHADC. If I take the post of Dy. CEM then many will not call me as a former CEM but as a former Dy. CEM in the KHADC.”
However when asked on the post of Chairman in the KHADC, Shylla said, “Yes if the role is being offered to me I will take it.”
Asked on when he is contemplating to officially joining the newly floated regiol party, People Democratic Front (PDF), he said, “As not of right now many have yet to join the political party hence I will have to wait for the right time.”
