Sidhant causes upset

GUWAHATI, Jan 3 : Unseeded Sidhant Deka caused upset by defeating top seed Aakhzar Nihal Rahman by  5–1 in the first round of  Boy’s Singles (Under 12 years) of the 17th Anup Lahoty India Club Tennis championship which got under way today at the India club courts. All together 310 participants from various parts of the region are taking part in the meet which is played in Boy’s Singles Under – 12, 14 and 18 years, Girl’s Singles Under – 12,14,18 years, Men’s Singles and Doubles, Senior Men’s Doubles, (above 35 years), Gents Veteran’s Doubles (Above 45 years ) and Gents Veteran’s Doubles  (Above 55 years) respectively.
