Sien Ba Nyngkong set to hit theatre on April 20

SHILLONG, Apr 16: Directed and produced by Kitbor Nongrum, in association with S Kharsyntiew production, ‘Sien Ba Nyngkong’, a Khasi film starring Shondorlang Thabah and Icyful Lyngkhoi, is all set to hit the theatre from April 20 to 26 in Shillong. Addressing mediapersons, Nongrum said that the shooting of the film was done within 21 days in places including Nongpoh, Umsning and Damsite.
Informing that he created the film at a total expenditure of Rs 4 Lakh, Nongrum urged the people of the State for support by watching the film in the respective halls.
Meanwhile, president of the Meghalaya Film Makers’ Association (MFMA) Commander Shangpliang, while lauding the local film makers, lamented on the fact that the State government has done nothing to address the plight of the local filmmakers in the State. 
“The government says that there are no guidelines or policy to help the local filmmakers,” Shangpliang said, adding that local filmmakers not only promote and nurture the local talents but also provide job opportunities to the unemployed youth of the State.
“All we are asking the government is to set up cinema halls which will also generate revenues for the State,” he added.
Shangpliang also said that the MFMA is seeking an appointment with the newly formed MDA government to let it know the hardships being faced by local filmmakers.
