Meanwhile, president of the Meghalaya Film Makers’ Association (MFMA) Commander Shangpliang, while lauding the local film makers, lamented on the fact that the State government has done nothing to address the plight of the local filmmakers in the State.
“The government says that there are no guidelines or policy to help the local filmmakers,” Shangpliang said, adding that local filmmakers not only promote and nurture the local talents but also provide job opportunities to the unemployed youth of the State.
“All we are asking the government is to set up cinema halls which will also generate revenues for the State,” he added.
Shangpliang also said that the MFMA is seeking an appointment with the newly formed MDA government to let it know the hardships being faced by local filmmakers.
