KOKRAJHAR, March 10: The tiol Democratic Front of Boroland (B. Saoraigra faction) has blamed the State government for Silapathar incident where an AASU office was ransacked and damaged by the activists of NIBBUS.
In a statement, the general secretary of the NDFB (S), BR Ferenga said the Silapathar incident could happen due to the weakness of the government. He said the successive state government in Assam had never think for the protection of the indigenous people of Assam as well as their identity and culture. He said the outfit will not tolerate on the destructive policy of the government to annihilate the indigenous people of the state by giving soft heart to the illegal immigrants on the pretext of their political gain.
Ferenga said the language, culture, tradition, religion and identity of the Bodos and other ethnic indigenous people of the state have been threatened due to the ubated illegal immigrants from Bangladesh which is being happened at the loose hands of the government and political patroge. “The Bodos ruled its kingdom and their territory was not under the Indian union but the successive governments in the state allowed the illegal foreigners to live in the lands of tribal and other indigenous people who, in the long run, became margilized in their own court yard besides, their culture, tradition, language and identity got threatened”, he said adding that the NDFB will stand against such discrimition of the government and will fight for legitimate rights and justice.
