‘Silapathar incident fabricated by saffron party’

Dibrugarh, March 7: The president of AGP Anchalikabadi Mancha, Sunil Rajkonwar, while addressing a press conference here at Greater Dibrugarh Press Club on Tuesday , stated that the  attack on the AASU office  at Silapathar was fabricated by the saffron party which was responsible for staging such a violent and shameful attack. Konwar accused the Central and State governments for aiding the said incident that would be marked as a black day in the history of Assam.

An attack was carried out on the martyrs’ dome and AASU office by members of a Bengali Hindu refugee organization despite the fact that the State Government is headed by a Chief Minister who was the president of AASU for a long stint before he joined in the politics, he said.

Sunil Rajkonwar demanded immediate arrest and punishment to the perpetrators of the horrific incident. He said that BJP government should be banned for harbouring the politics of religion in the State and for threatening the pillars of unity by proposing amendment of the Indian Citizenship Act. He further said that under no circumstances the BJP government was to be believed as it had backtracked from its electoral promises after coming to power. Rajkonwar called upon  the Chief Minister and other regiol parties to come together to work in securing the indigenous identity of the State.
