Silchar boy Siddhartha inducted as Public Governor in UK

Silchar, Feb 16: Siddhartha ndi Purkayastha, deputy department leader for English, Challney High School for Girls, Luton, Bedfordshire, has been elected as Public Governor, Milton Keynes University Hospital, tiol Health Service Foundation Trust. Siddhartha, who hails from Silchar, has been elected from the Extended Area constituency which includes the towns of Bedford, Dunstable, Northampton, Aylesbury, Towcester and Bicester in the south of England.

The Council of Governors at the Milton Keynes University Hospital, tiol Health Service Foundation Trust Hospital are responsible for appointing or removing the Chairman and the other Non – Executive Directors, approving an appointment of the Chief Executive of the Hospital Trust and holding the Non – Executive Directors, individually and collectively, to account for the performance of the Board of Directors. Siddhartha, who studied Employment Law at the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom, as is an ‘Accredited Caseworker’ for the tiol Association for School Masters and Union of Women Teachers, the largest Teachers’ Union in the United Kingdom, and advises and supports teachers on employment related matters. Siddhartha is the eldest son of Dr Sujit Kumar ndi Purkayastha, Retired Principal, Silchar Medical College and Hospital, and Dr Sunda ndi Purkayastha, Retired Head of Education, Women’s College, Silchar.
