Silchar gears up for Swachcha Survekshan

Silchar, Jan 3: Silchar city has been included in the selected 500 cities of the country for ‘Swachcha Survekshan – 2017’ and in this regard the District Disaster Magement Authority (DDMA), Silchar and Silchar Municipal Board (SMB) have jointly taken a number of awareness generation programmes. It has been decided by the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, who is also the chairman of DDMA, that a marathon for ‘Swachcha Survekshan’ would be taken out on January 8 from 7am from Capital Point to Rangirkhari. This has been decided for greater community engagement in the process. In this regard, all the officials of both central and state government departments, SMB, ward commissioners, Public Sector Undertakings, both private and government schools, colleges, banks, private organizations, agencies, NGOs, SHGs, civil societies and all other organizations and citizens of Silchar, have been requested to join in this marathon for ‘Swachha Silchar’ and make this programme a grand success.
