Sindik bags Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar

ITAGAR, Dec 28:  Youth writer Taro Sindik has won the coveted ‘Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar-2017’ for his book titled Aksharo ki vinti, a collection of Hindi poems. Sahitya Akademi president, Vishwath Prasad Tiwari presented the award to Taro at a function held at the Randawa Auditorium in Chandigadh, Punjab recently.
Taro is the second recipient of the prestigious literary award from Aruchal Pradesh after Y D Thongchi. He, however, is the first person from North East India to get this award for a book written in Hindi. Son of Late Tai Sindk and Late Yalung Sindik, Taro (30) belongs to the Sippi village in Daporijo in Upper Subansiri district. He is a graduate in Hindi from DNGC and also Masters in Philosophy from Rajiv Gandhi University. At present, Taro is engaged as an assistant professor in Hindi at the Donyi Polo Government College, Kamki in West Siang. Yuva Puraskar, also known as Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar, is a literary honor in India which Sahitya Akademi, India’s tiol Academy of Letters, annually confers on young writers of outstanding works in one of the twenty-four major Indian languages.
