Sing Ronghang Memorial Park iugurated

Donkamokam, Feb 5: Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang today iugurated the Forest Inspection Bungalow, Sing Ronghang Memorial Park, statue of Sing Ronghang and flagged off the Boating Lake at Tumpreng in West KA District.  On the occasion, MLA Dr. Mansing Rongpi, chairman of KAAC Bidyasing Tokbi, all EMs, MACs and board chairmen of KAAC, DC of West KA, DK Barua, Hamren SP Mahesh Kr Sharma, Chief Conservator of Forest Abhijit Rabha, Hamren DFO Jotin Sharma and other officers were present. CEM Tuliram Ronghang, the chief guest, in his speech said that it was a Karbi Ningkan Kimi (Karbi New Year) gift for the people Karbi Anglong. “I am extremely happy today that I got the opportunity to iugurate the IB, pond and statue of Sing Ronghang and also the memorial park.  Tumpreng is the gateway of West Karbi Anglong that lies besides the beautiful Kopili River which gently flows, welcoming the people and tourists visiting Hamren,” he said. Around Rs 1.37 crore was sanctioned for the construction in the sprawling 8 bighas of forest land here, he further added. He also thanked the Fishery Department for sanctioning the pond having length 120 metres, breadth 40 metres and depth 1.7 metres. He also recalled the days of Sing Ronghang, who for a decade represented Bithung Rengthama MDC constituency as the most trusted leader. Presided over by chairman of the Veteriry Board, Ditolal Hasnu, the meet was also briefed by MLA Dr Mansing Rongpi and Chief Conservator of Forest Abhijit Rabha.
