Singing competition in memory of Jayanta Hazarika

Dibrugarh, September 29: A singing competition in memory of noted singer of the State, Jayanta Hazarika, organized by Abhipsa Choir Group of Dibrugarh, will be held at the Lakshmith Bezbaruah Auditorium on October 15. The competition will be based on Jayanta Hazarika’s immortal songs like Tumar Kotha Jetia Bhabu, Haar Pam Moi Puoti Nixate, Jodi Jibone Kande i i Buli, Tumar Morome Mur, Nibir Bone Je Matise Jaa, Kal Raatir Prithibit Sap Bhora, Mur Ei u Mathu Bai Jau, Krishnochura Krishnochura, Agoli Botahe Kopale Kolore Pat, Ei Akash Bor Bixal, Hurat Mogon Boyal Raati, Ketiaba Bejarote, Maya Moi Rupali Jok and Mor Ayuxir Raati. Participants can enroll their me by filling the prescribed form along with a sum of Rs 200 and the last date of form submission is October 15. Each participant can be accompanied by only four supporting artistes and will not be allowed to use electronic musical instruments for the competition. As per the rules of the singing competition, a participant can even participate without any accompanying artist but if needed, organizers would provide the same. The winners of the competition will be awarded with cash of Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 each as first, second and third prizes respectively.
