Sisodia hits back, says 'snoop-gate' under 'Sahab' was worse

Paji, Sept 7:  Questioned over the slew of allegations against AAP lawmakers, AAP leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday said the allegations of “snoop-gating” against “Sahab” were worse, but no one spoke about them - alluding to BJP chief Amit Shah. “It is a sad part... but what is sadder with other parties is that ‘Sahab’ does snoop-gating and no one speaks against them, even media does not speak against them,” Sisodia told reporters here.

Before the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, investigative jourlism portals Cobrapost and Gulail, the latter run by now AAP leader Ashish Khetan, had claimed that phone conversations recorded by the Central Bureau of Investigation had revealed that Amit Shah, then a state BJP leader in Gujarat, was allegedly involved in illegal surveillance on a woman in 2009. The BJP had denied the allegations.

In the latest round of accusations against AAP, Sandeep Kumar, a former women and child development minister in the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi, was sacked after a CD showing him in a compromising position with a woman surfaced. Kumar has since been booked for rape and arrested.

The Delhi Deputy Chief Minister is on a two-day visit to the poll-bound state, where the AAP is pitched in an electoral battle against the ruling Bharatiya Jata Party and the Congress. Sisodia also said that ministers and MLAs of the BJP, as well as the Congress in Goa had several allegations against them, but no party had the “courage to suspend them, let alone sack them or throw them out of the party”.
