Sit-in-stir at Sori

SORI, Aug 20: The Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad (TAYP)’s Chairaideo District Committee today stage sit-in-stir at Lachit Uddayan on the bank of Sori Pukhuri here from 10 am to 2 pm demanding for granting ST status to Tai Ahom community. The office –bearers of TAYP also sent memorandums to Prime Minister, Union Home Minister , Union Tribal Affairs Minister and Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi though the SDO (civil) of Charaideo.  The memorandum was signed by TAYP leaders Bhrigu Hatimuria, Chao Bijoy Rajkumar and Chao Prabjyoti Saikia.
