Site of proposed AIIMS yet to be confirmed: Rajen Gohain

GAON (HAIBORGAON), June 2: In an interaction with the local media persons here, Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain said that although Prime Minister rendra Modi laid the foundation stone of proposed AIIMS at Changsari, yet the fil site had not beenĀ  filized by the Union Cabinet, rather the Union Cabinet only took the decision to set up the proposed AIIMS in Assam.

The minister further stated that from the very beginning he had been insisting to set up the proposed AIIMS only in middle Assam exactly at Raha and in pursuing the same he himself brought up the issue before the Prime Minister several times. Referring to the pending case about the site of the proposed AIIMS in Green Tribul, he further said that decision of the exact site of AIIMS would become clear only after the verdict of the Tribul.

Gohain on Thursday graced a function as chief guest held at Dawson School field on occasion of the completion of three years of the BJP-led Union Government. In his speech, Gohain stated that Prime Minister rendra Modi treated the entire country as his mother and within three years of his tenure, he was able to push the entire country ahead from all sides.

He highlighted various schemes related to women and also pointed out the benefits of the schemes taken by Union Government. In the function, MLA Rupak Sarma and Dimbeswar Das were also present.
