Situation Grim in Numaligarh, Dhansiri Flows over the Danger Level

Kaziranga/GOLAGHAT: The Dhansiri river continues to flow above the danger level at Numaligarh and the NH-37 connectivity has been blocked by the administration as the water level is rising and water is flowing through the road in Golaghat district. According to report, on Thursday the Dhansiri river was flowing three metres above from the danger mark. Thousands of people were rescued by the SDRF and the NDRF team and confined to relief camps. Khargeswar Guala of Numaligarh died and Puna Bawri fell into the flood water but was rescued by the SDRF team. A part of the newly-constructed bridge at Kamargaon Bosa Pathar over NH-37 road was washed away by water. So far, 76 villages have been affected and many people have left their homes for safer places. Minister Atul Bora along with Golaghat administration officials visited the villages and the relief camps and assured that the government would definitely do the needful to help the flood-affected people.
