Sivasagar bandh passes off peacefully

DEMOW, Oct 31: The 12-hour Sivasagar district bandh which was called by the Salary Deprived Teachers’ Association on Saturday in support of the demand to release teachers Basanta Neog and Lily Mohan, was successful in Demow.  All shops, banks and educatiol institutions remained closed and vehicles did not ply on the road and normal life was paralyzed. A protest was staged in Demow ASTC bus stand by the salary deprived teachers where they shouted various slogans against the Congress government and also demand regularization of their jobs and release of pending salaries of 45 months for 1,530 teachers.
