SIVASAGAR, Nov 9: The Sivasagar District Committee of BJP observed Anti-Black Money Day on Wednesday. Led by BJP Sivasagar District president Bhaben Mohan, an open meeting in favour of demonetization was held at Boarding Field. Addressing the gathering, Biman Sensuwa Baruah, professor in the Department of Economics of Amguri College, said demonetization move which the government took aiming to throw out black money from the system, was a welcome step.
He said due to demonetisation there was a sharp increase in the number of taxpayers and terror-funding sources were clogged, which brought down terror cases. The meeting was also attended by State vice-president Surabhi Rajkuwari, Hemo Gogoi, Pronita Bora Bhuyan, Polash Saikia, Dr. Probin Konwar and people from various walks of life.
